Okay so I lied, I said I was going to take it easy till Feburary but I couldn't handle the lack of running anymore. I was going to start running sooner but after school seminary kept me from hitting the pavement :(. But hey the semester is over! I am free and I can run again!!! So the the glorious return to running, in fact it wasnt glorious at all I started off to find the neighbors dog following me  but he left after i went past his house. I ran to the fishing pond the short way. and that part was okay it was cutting though the baseball fields that were mud and water and not at all grass is were i had isssues. in short my shoe came off and my sock was covered in mud, to top it all it started to rain how nice of nature to do that on me. I was able to make it back fine and will take the lesson to heart.

so I was going to run to the high school but slept in with it being no school and all. So I went the sprinters "Weights" workout and they ran a lap then streched, me thinking that we were going to the weight room took a momment to drink some gatorade and get a bite to snack on. Then we went not to the weight room but to the hall and ran pick ups. long story short I did them then did some lifting and while in the bathroom emptied the contents of my stomach into a garage bag. then I went home and was lazy the rest of day. bad I know but its the last day free before 3rd quarter

so I finally run with my team and its the run I hate the most, so yeah I ran within a block of my house then turned around and ran back to RHS. the canals were quite muddy in some places so we took 27th back. I had a descent number of people wave back to me when I waved at them. a good run overall with Marci, Carter, Coach, ET and Katlyn

Okay so I really didnt think I could do a 6.5 mile run but I was able to hang in there. It was the Oquirrh Mountain Temple run which I did with Jake Carter and ET. I was a bit behind them on the way there before I got them at the top and kept on the rest of the time. it hurt but it was good

Today was the first kinda speed work that we have done this year. We did a 1.5 warm up then an 800 on the track splits were 83 and then 96, showing that i still start out way to fast. We did a mile recovery with the final 800 after that 85 91 which gets me slighty under a 3:00 half each time which is what I was going for.

We went down to visit our friends up north aka the Bingham Miners. the run was interseting and i  ran with many different people from coach Michelle Bradyon Mandy Sarah and Sam. The ankle hurt a tad so I will wear the brace tomorrow if the cold is bearable.

okay so i was supposed to go run hills today but then again it was like 15 degrees without the windchill that made it aroun i dont like ZERO! any way like no one showed up so i went out and wasted half an hour with allie and Jo. I didnt really even run I trotted. we might have done 3 just around the neighborhoods but its hard to tell i spent most of the time running on the curb or running backwards to keep my nose from falling off.... all in all  not that fun of a run

today we did a mini meet luckly i was able to get out a boring NHS meeting early I changed did a mile warm up then found out that the 800  was after the hudles and the 100 which means its not going to start for an hour. I went to the long jump pit and got a PR of 15'5" so I might try being a jumper this season the 800 started and i didnt fell god the split was like 76 but the second lap was bad I gave up and didnt even kick ended up with a 2:48 but I know I can go much faster with some more miles

giving myself 3 miles is pushing it. today was day 2 of mini meet so I went running around for a warm up. didnt find anything much went back to the track and watched the 200s the mile was supposed to be last but some sprinters (gomez) didnt think they would have enough time to recover before running for the 400 but the weather starting looking bad. the girls went out and it started to rain. I think the leading time was like 6:10 or something so that looked good but by now it was windy and raining. I figured that i didnt need to run a mile to know that i was distance so i just cheered and cheered plus trying to stay warm.

I did a bluffdale loop that i have never done before but will likely done. I went up to 27th though the trailer park across the skybridge then back down to the canal. I ran the strech of the canal till I got the 2200 which looks very different from the riverton side. I ran around a park that turned out to be bluffdale city park. It was nice. some LAX girls were there but they didnt notice me. I ran home by going down to bangater luckly there was a gate in a fence that was open. good day for wavying at cars

so yeah... i kinda slacked off last week but last night i saw that Tay and Allie were going for a run so i decided to join them. Allie took us up to Rose canyon were did a run on shaggy mountain road, I liked the hills and the dirt roads good change from the pavement and canals i am used to. I am saying 5.25 beacuse that is the distance of the total loop however it might have only 3.25 if we took the short cut. I don't remember so I will just boost my miles and go bike later tonight perhaps the river is down enough for me to bike the parkway.

Happy thought: I saw a rabbit

ugh google earth is being dumb so i cant measure the run, anyway first day of xc. coach Chirstensen wasnt there so we got to meet the new guy who ran for UVU but i cant spell his name anyway he had us do some drills then gave us the run 25-35 for new 30-40 for mid and he took the highest level up to the bull, good to see everyone again and run with jeremy and cole , when we got back he had us run barefoot on the very very cold wet and sharp grass then some strides and we called it quites for the day, i had a piece of cake running out the door and it came up right near the end of our little run. you know the season will be great when you are throwing up on the first day I also biked to and from RHS

very very very easy miles so yeah we had the second new coach today, Hendensen? anyway i was worried when i saw his build then when i saw the headphones i knew we were going to have do it ourselves anyway myself and dutton jr did the same drills as yesterday, they headed to the pond. while i went out with the sprinters aka gomez, nat, court, and maddie. they went very slow but i didnt mind it I wasnt in the mood for fast pace running. we did the barefoot run and then strides biked there and home then went swimming and the afternoon and biked home happy day

You know you run XC when
1. you roll your eyes when people say, "You run three miles...at once?"
2. you get irritated when more than half the people you know don't know the difference between cross country and track.
3. you come up with weird answers to questions like "why do you run so much?"
4. you run farther in a week than your bus travels for meets.
5. the most enjoyable time you've had all month is a day off from practice.

wednesday is speed day which means we have a lot less people show up anyway it was a just a 3 mile tempo run. I wont list the times just because some of my miles were slower than my 8mm warm up the cooldown with courtney was very enjoyable with puddle jumping and to finish it off with a 50m race with chop chop. I won :)

PM talked to the jet earlyer and he got me to come run with him after scouts. it was great running with him and hopefully we can do it more often

You know you run XC when:

11. you take more pride in making signs for the car to go to state than in your homework.
12. your chest is as flat as your back.
13. you have running withdrawal if you don't run everyday.
14. you wake up every morning in pain.
15. Gatorade is your drug of choice.

well the first meet of the season is done with and I got a course PR and improved a minute and 10 seconds from last year which was very nice. I felt decent though out the whole race though i should have drank more water and kicked harder but i did hold jared off so it was all good. Dutton took too many photos of all the girls and i spent 2 hours going though my photos getting the 1083 down to 110.... yeah good race, i got a yes from my homecoming date so today has been very very good

so yeah Murry today the race that has been my constant friend for 4 years. got there super early and grabbed a spot in a pavillion which was very nice since it came and rained. I walked most of the course put in my blanks for the first time. and went out with Kylee to train her in XC photos which she did quite well considering conditons anyway i barely got to the start line before they shot the gun and some how we managed to get off the 469 of us with out restarted though a few did trip. I was held in the pack and had a hard time passing people and wasnt able to move up the snake as well as i wanted too but then the rain came and didnt stop. i kept on passing and moving up and had a reasonable kick at the end. only to be held in the shoot for EVER!!! After that i kinda ran around then went home. tomorrow is our team run of a charity race and a long run

plus i get to make elk jerky and cut down a peach tree. Hopefully i can get out to hike Bells Canyon

so a week after my senior xc season i decide to run a road race in my spikes to retire them as it were. it worked out quite well with blanks in but one was digging into my foot the entire time. anyway after a long day at school i go home relax then at 5:45 drive down to the river bottems and get the shirt warm up etc etc... Race started a little late but not much and I knew i could be top 5 alteast listening to the other guys but my main goal was sub 33. I had walked the course pretty much last week and knew where i was going so i was prepared. I followed Chad and another guy and a girl running the mile. I was in 3rd and didnt let anyone pass me the whole race.

Mile 1 6:16 was quick from the gun and i just worked on form and not letting anyone pass me and throwing in some surges on the turns

Mile 2 6:29 totally on the JRP now still trying to stay a head of the pack winch i did and making moves when ever someone else did to stay in the lead.

Mile 3 6:30 under the bridge past the ponds and to the water stand. made the U turn grabbed some water drank a little then got rid of it. I see that Chad has the lead and a some distance between him and #2. still havent looked back to see how many are on my butt.

mile 4 6:41 the blank on the inside of the right foot is start to dig into the foot and i am getting tried from only racing 5ks this season still holding on and doing a lot better breathing than the guys behind me.

mile 5 6:05 now i have to go and i know that i will get something special if i can keep third. the trail goes up hill slightly and i lose one of the sets of heavy breaths. coming and around the bridge i see the ladies telling runners to go though the parking lot but the other guy who is wearing headphones didnt hear them so i see him in the conner of my kicking hard. i dig down and go into the chute before right at 32 minutes and then get scanned and go hurl in some bushes right after.

overall 3rd place and a PR plus a sweet trophy a nice way to end the week
